Who doesn’t want to “bee” friendly? The Bee-Friendly Garden is a lovely and informative book explains why and how to cultivate a garden which is friendly to bees, hummingbirds, and other flower-loving creatures. Flowers are really the focus, along with a helps for selecting local flowering trees, plants, and herbs which will do well in any part of the U.S., in all kinds of gardens, large or small, whether in the city, suburban, and rural areas.

I especially appreciated their suggestions about how to create a harmonious effect along walkways, including using repeating plants over and over, and their listings of herbs, berries, and other plants which can be incorporated into existing garden areas and even vegetable gardens. There are beautiful photos throughout this well-bound book, with in-depth suggestions for each hardiness zone around the country, including a helpful reference tables at the end of the book. The book is just over 200 pages and works well for a read-through or as a reference book.

I received this book from BloggingforBooks.com, for an honest review.
